Ukrainian Botanical Cross-Stitch with Dionne Jennings

Culture Roots in the Village Series

Artist, Dionne Jennings, will lead a free to attend hands-on botanical cross-stitch workshop. This is a chance to learn about Ukrainian folk art and the basics of cross-stitch while creating a small botanical bookmark inspired by Ukrainian decorative traditions. Along the way, Dionne will share context around the use of plant imagery and traditional design, creating space for both making and cultural learning.

Supplies include:

• Printed instructions

• Embroidery floss

• Aida cloth

• Needle threaders

• Tapestry needles

• Thread spools

All materials will be provided, and participants will be able to take their project home to continue or complete afterwards.

No previous cross-stitch experience is required. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
